We are in Puerto Williams, heading north next year via Falklands. Does anyone know of a safe place in Uraguay or southern Brasil to leave a boat, either afloat or ashore, for 6 weeks in May and June?

As Paul says, Piriapolis is the usual haven. Roxanna who I imagine you met in Ushuaia spends the austral winter there so I 'm sure she can help. I overwintered Mina2 for two consecutive years at Marina Bracuhy about 60nm west of Rio - but that may be too far north for you.

Thanks to both of you, but we 've got permission to go to Argentina after the Falklands. so we 'll leave the boat in Buenos Aires
