Rumtopf (cruising version)
Surplus fruit White Spirit (Gin, Vodka, Bacardi)
Keep a large tightly covered jar?container in a dark place. (I use an empty 2 ltr Cola Bottle). Whenever there is surplus or old fruit chop it up roughly and add to the bottle. Sprinkle a little sugar over the top and just cover with white spirit. Keep doing this until container is full and leave for as long as possible (3 - 6 weeks).
When you arrive at your destination drain liquid into a glass and congratulate yourself on having made it.
