Ongoing work to construct a ferry roro terminal at Porta das Pipas, adjacent to Angra Marina, has been halted as archeological artefacts have been found. Although it is unlikely that this will delay the works for long, it is also unlikely that all the work will be completed by April 2022 as was originally planned. The travel-hoist dock should be completed by then so access to the hard-standing should be available.
In the meantime there is a lot of movement of vessels used to construct the terminal, vessels which are restricted in their ability to manoeuvre. Access to the marina is not as straightforward as it used to be. At present it would not be prudent to try and enter the marina at night, so either try to arrived during daylight hours or be prepared to anchor in the bay until morning.
