Does anyone have a recommendation as to a good place to leave my yacht for a couple of months over the Summer (next year) in the Deltaville/ Chesapeake area? Many thanks

On the hard - Zimmerman's or Stingray Point (if you want to do work yourself). In the water - there are many choices. Dozier, Safe Harbor and Fishing Bay come to mind. I have personally used Dozier and they have a couple of loaner cars among other amenities. I have also used Stingray Point.

We used Zimmerman for three seasons and they were very good. Adam Zadeg, who runs it, understands cruisers. If you speak with him, please give him our regards. Anne & Michael Hartshorn

Should have also said, the Port Officers in that area are very helpful.

I'm a more than a bit partial to the Eastern Shore as home port is Oxford. I'd recommend Campbell's Boatyard. Tommy Campbell has two locations in Oxford, Batchelor's Point and Jack"s Point. There is a Safe Harbor location there too which used to be a Brewer's yard prior to the acquisition. Campbell's is very reasonable, experienced staff and all around great people. Oxford is 8 miles from Easton. The area in general has a lot to offer. Oxford is 8 miles from Easton which is a great town too.

Many thanks Hi Paul, The Ches has excellent marinas and most will keep your boat safe. Detaville has a handful of choices. I would suggest, as an alternative, considering a short-haul and storing on the hard. It may be cheaper as summer prices are higher and storage lower, and it is likely to be safer: in part as you need to consider hurricanes in that area when leaving the boat for a few months in summer. Mobjack Bay has the best boat yard I have ever darkened the doors of in Zimmerman's Marine. I believe they also have a presence in Deltaville.
