The Great Dismal Swamp canal will be closed from 8 January 2024 until 31 March 2024. Mariners should plan on using the Albemarle and Chesapeake Canal.

That certainly makes sense and is probably a good time for most, although it is a shame for the cruising boats going S to lose that option. Dick
