Venice lagoon MOSE

I am currently in the Venice lagoon. I am having difficulty finding information about closing of the MOSE barriers and the protocol or signals. The dedicated MOSE website seems to be more political than practical. The day I entered the lagoon  at Chioggia, I found a notice on the Venice city website that there had been a test closing the day before. I had not known that when I left the previous port!

Hi Sandy,
I would contact the harbormaster (or the equivalent) at one of the yacht clubs. We stayed at one at the end of the main island for a couple of weeks but I have long forgotten the name.

Thanks Dick,
I did contact the Chioggia Capitanerie in advance and got a non-commital sounding answer. Always difficult with my broken Italian. I contacted the Compramare (however you spell it) as I was approaching the port but I was pretty sure it was open by then. You'd have thought in this day and age they would have an online resource, especially if they know in advance that they are going to test it.
