I acquired Dolcenea, an Endeavour 40 ketch, in 2019, in Port Jefferson, Long Island, NY, from her first owner. We have crossed the Atlantic twice, since: https://forecast.predictwind.com/tracking/display/Dolcenea/ from Port Jeff to Saint-Nazaire, France, last year, from St Nazaire to Jacare Village Marina, Brazil, this summer, on our way to Tierra del Fuego. Over 2019-2022 a lot was taken out - removed - from Dolcenea : leaking aluminum fuel tank under the engine, one of the two water tanks under the square; the generator; all the wiring was disconnected at the electric board; the engine has been taken out; the rudder as well; and some more. Refurbishing works included a new fuel tank, 52 gls, a little shorter than the original one, same location under the engine - room from the removed water tank under the square is used for water jerry and other storage; four 100-Watt solar panels on the dodger and a Xantrex MPPT controler; a Victron transformer; a Xantrex 110V converter/charger; house batteries (a total of 225 A.h) and a 100 A.h crank battery; an NMEA 2000 network; B&G radar, AIS, VHF, HF (N1PID and F1PID ham licenses); replacing all lighting from the bottom of the bilge to the top of the mast, by led components; removing the toilets, both replaced by Nature Head compost toilets; removing several seacocks, leaving only 6 (still too many ...); renewing a lot of the piping, removing electrical pressure pumps - replaced by foot and hand pumps at the sinks; a CPT-Pilot at the wheel; an Hydrovane at the transom; new sails (mizzen, genoa, main sail) - in addition to the 'old' ones still quite fit, kept as spares ... just in case - the wardrobe includes a spinaker; a cutter stay; a 2-burner + oven Taylor stove and its kerosene tank. The only 110V left available is at the Xantrex I/C outlets, existing 110V wiring is used for 12V outlets; the engine: new cylinder head and valves; the rudder: checked, sanded deep, epoxied; rudder and propeller axel stuffing boxes renewed; a new cutlass bearing (tricky to remove!); several of the light ports were replaced by new ones (same brand, Benson), others were dismounted to renew the sealant. Etc.
