I might suggest that for much less money than paper charts, you can get a I-Pad/tablet with Navionics for the cruising area as a back up. Use it all the time (in conjunction with your other e-chart system) or wrap it aluminum foil and put it away. We have looked for a chart folio but can't find evidence of any such publication. We have C-map electronic charts but prefer to have paper as well.

If anyone has charts we can buy/borrow we'd be very grateful. Obviously, we will reimburse postage. We have an English address or a relatives address in Ontario for postage.

Belinda Chesman and Kit McAllister

[/quote]

Hi Belinda and Kit,
We are headed into the Great Lakes in a season or 2 (in Nova Scotia presently) and we also like to have at least small scale paper charts of our cruising grounds, but agree that doing so is expensive. I might suggest that for much less money than paper charts, you can get a I-Pad/tablet with Navionics for the cruising area as a back up. Use it all the time (in conjunction with your other e-chart system) or wrap it aluminum foil and put it away. We do have paper charts for much of the Canadian Maritimes, but have been using the above to good effect.
My best, Dick Stevenson, s/v Alchemy
