Tablet to run Open CPN

I am looking for a tablet computer to run Open CPN with Google Earth and similar images to supplement my Furuno chart plotter in the Pacific. I have used my Ipad to run things like the Antares charts in Scotland but it appears that Open CPN isn't available for the Ipad. Any recommendations? Obviously, it's good to have something that is a bit rugged and has a bright screen. Thanks for any suggestions!

You will love the Pacific but book now for next year if you want to leave your boat somewhere for the cyclone season in ‘25! We haul out in the Society Islands in 3 weeks.

Looks like SealQ isn't available in the US app store but AcquaMap is. Would you mind explaining how the streaming works in AquaMap and what the advantage is? Are you viewing the same chart or satellite image that one would download from say Soggy Paws or something better? I tend to have some drop outs in my Starlink connection and I'd be more comfortable having the chart or image on my device rather than relying on a streaming connection for it. Cheers Joerg

We run OpenCPN on a Mac and have been able to run KAP files on the iOS App SeaIQ. But, to be honest, Starlink has again been a game changer. We are currently using Aquamap’s Satellite layer streamed via Starling for intricate, bommie spotting navigation. It works brilliantly on all iOS devices. The Boating app has a less satisfactory satellite layer as far as we are concerned.
