Well we are just about ready, having enjoyed the Galapagos Isles, and the wonderful wild life for the last 7 weeks. So, later this week we will set off to Hiva Oa in the Marquese Islands, French Polynesia. As the crow flies it is 3150 miles, and we are estimating about 30 days at sea.

There is no wind where we are, so we are going to have to motor south about 250 miles to get on the edge of the South East trade winds, if we go much further south at the beginning we loose the advantage of the South Equatorial Current. We have put on lots of extra diesel, sohopefully we can get down to the wind fairly swiftly.

If you want to follow us please click on the Pangolin link below, we will endeavour to update our position each day. It will give our coordinates, and we will put in the day number and the distance sailed for the previous 24 hours, and a bit of text.

http://www.pangolin.co.nz/yotreps/reporter_list.php We are listed under DARRAMY go down until you find us. Click on track and see where are.

On passage we have got to practise our French, and try to forget all the Spanish we have learnt over the past few years!

Au Revoir Brian and Sue
