Working cod fishing harbour (lands 5,000 tons a year) on the north side of Patreksfjordur. Well marked entrance with leading lights and 5m in the outer harbour. We were directed to berth on the tyre clad harbour wall in front of the Harbour Master's office. This berth is open to the south so if strong southerlies it would be better to request a berth in the main fishing harbour. Water on the dock but adaptors required for the massive 3 phase electricity sockets. Fortunately Piotr, the harbour master, has various step down adaptors. Great cafe and fast broadband the cafe called Stukuhisid. Swimming pool. Washing machine and toilets on the dock. There are 2 supermarkets, a bank and a pharmacy. There is a domestic airport and road connections to Isafjordur.
