Atlantean is hull #2 out of Philbrooks Shipyard in Sidney, British Columbia.
A venerable cruiser, these boats have a solid cruising pedigree, the most well known is likely Moonshine of the namesake book Moonshine Logs, by Francis Stokes who placed second in the 1982 BOC Challenge via the great capes and the Southern Ocean.
Atlantean has one circumnavigation under her belt skippered by Gregory Newell Smith who chronicled the trip in his book Solitude of the Open Sea.
We purchased her in 2021 in Seattle and sailed her down to LA to begin refitting for another circumnavigation, currently we're planning on leaving this coming December out of San Pedro, CA bound for the Sea of Cortez.
A stout double ender, cutter rigged, fin keel and skeg hung rudder, the FP39 shares an almost identical underbody layout as the Valiant 40.
