Have just attended a fascinating meeting in Hull (UK) organised by the Nautical Institute concerning the oldest remaining steam trawler in the world (Viola) abandoned in Grytviken South Georgia for many years and how the Viola Trust is planning to bring her back to Hull. Viola was built in Beverley, Yorkshire (close to Hull) in 1906 and operated as a steam trawler, naval patrol boat, whaler and sealer. She was sold to a Norwegian company in 1920, taken to South Georgia and has never returned.

Even won a bottle of gin in the raffle!
