Teddy,
We are at Whitehaven this year and are happy with the service. Yard Manager Tony Taylor is very attentive. Very well protected locked harbor and we can enter about 3 hours either side of high with 6 '6" draft. Toodle-oo! survived the Force 11 December gales just fine!
They are limited on what work they can do but apparently have sub contractors that can perform whatever... (We are fortunate to not need anything this winter!)
We decided to keep Toodle-oo! in the water over winter, but will bring her out in the Spring for bottom work and preem prior to launch - which the yard will perform for us (we live in the US during the winter).
Great access to Isle of Man.

Teddy,
We have spent the last couple of winters afloat in ConwyMarina which is more sheltered than most and has some very reasonably priced tradesmen to hand if needed. There 's hard standing there too if you prefer. They keep dredging the marina so as long as they put you in a dredged berth you would be OK. Entry to the marina for you would be an hour either side of high tide. Passage to the isle of Man is about 50 miles.
