4) SUITABILITY AND ATTRACTION FOR YACHTS Best place in Kenya. - beautiful, safe & reasonably convenient.

5) MARINAS, BERTHING OR ANCHORAGE Moorings £1 ($1.50) per foot per month at Swynfords. Free anchorage at Swynfords or off Britchfords’ house (excellent holding in mud)

6) ENTRY PORTS Lamu, Kalifi, Mombassa & Mtwapa.

7) FORMAL REQUIREMENTS FOR YACHTS ENTERING/DEPARTING

b) from/to abroad Immigration in Mombassa. Customs/health in Kalifi ($13 per boat.

c) visa requirements For most except UK passports ($50 for these coming soon). US citizens pay $30. Available on arrival.

17) FIRST HAND RECOMMENDATIONS OR WARNINGS Wonderful hospitality and help from Tony and Daphne Britchford, and Philip and Charley Mason at boatyard. A lovely peaceful spot. As anywhere in E.Africa, take precautions against theft. A watchman on your unattended yacht overnight will only cost $2. Good mosquito screens absolutely essential.
