Hi, We are planning on leaving our Cook Island registered yacht on the eastern seaboard of the USA for 6 months over next winter. The plan it to cruise the east coast from May until beginning of November. Leave the yacht in somewhere like Newport, Rhode Island over winter then join her again the following spring to continue down the east coast the following summer. This will mean that the boat will be in the USA for more than a year and I would like to hear from anyone who has any experience with a situation like this with regard to customs and the possible implications.
