Our Warrior 38 was built in 1984, and we purchased her in 2001 for our circumnavigation 2003-2005. Excellent choice - sturdy, comfortable, with a much-admired lay-out below. Huge uncluttered foredeck for inflating dinghy with ease, hanging a hammock for sunbathing etc.

The teak deck needed replacing, and given the vast area of decking involved this was something we put off for as long as possible until it became absolutely essential last year. The teak is laid straight onto fibreglass, with no gel coat between, so its function is structural rather than merely cosmetic. We found a boat yard in Conwy (TLC Boat Repairs) that have just completed the job to our entire satisfaction for a much lower cost than we were quoted elsewhere.

Our boat now has a new lease of life. We cannot find anything of a similar size that we would swap her for.

Carolyn, we are thinking of overwintering in Conwy next year so I have just written to TLC asking them if they can do Coppercoat. So thanks for to recommendation.
