Having just lost an Aquair 100 towed turbine, presumably to a shark, I set about finding a replacement only to find that Ampair Energy Ltd, the manufacturers of the Aquair range, had gone out of business and been acquired by Seamap Ltd of UK and Singapore. The following email from Seamap explains the acquisition and the new supply and spares arrangement:

Hi John Thank you for your email. For your information, Ampair Energy Ltd was placed into Administration on 3rd February 2015 by its directors. The Company ceased trading on that date, and all of the employees were made redundant and phone numbers, email addresses and website changed. Seamap has taken over the assets and IP of Ampair Energy Ltd and we have moved production and inventory to our existing facility in Singapore. This is the “Micro Wind” product line of Ampair 100, 300 and 600W, the Aquair 100 Wind/Water turbine and the UW100 Underwater Generator. We also have the IP for Packaged Power Systems (PPS). We do not own the IP for the “Small Wind” product line of 2kW to 30kW. Seamap will not accept any liability or warranty for any products supplied before March 2015. Seamap Singapore is currently manufacturing the Underwater Generator UW100 and the Wind/Water turbine Aquair 100. We have discontinued supply of Wind turbines Ampair 100, 300 and 600 as off 1st May 2018, but we still hold a lot of spares for all products in our inventory, and we will be pleased to quote you on an individual basis. All the inventory and products will be held in our manufacturing facility in Singapore and therefore all items will be priced in US Dollars and delivery will be Ex-Works Seamap Singapore. Please note that all items will come from Seamap Singapore and so you will need to factor in cost of freight and any import duties and taxes. Seamap accepts payments via PayPal (PayPal adds 4% surcharge), or by bank transfer (20USD bank fee applies). To answer your query, we have 02-63-1031 Aquair Q100,Standard Pitch Tower Propeller(2 bladed) for 7 knots or less (Ampair part number AM Q01 SP11), available Ex Stock Singapore, at 270USD/each. Kindly let us know if you require formal quotation or any additional information. Best Regards Edita Lees Tel: +44 (0)1749 342223 Fax: +44 (0)1749 347588 www.seamap.com Seamap (UK) Ltd.
