I am trying to arrange insurance cover for a UK home when it is unoccupied for a lengthy period. Most UK insurers will only cover for 60 days at the most. Topsail have advertised a product but it is limited to a maximum of 180 days unoccupied.

Does anyone have any suggestions, or any experience? How do long term cruisers deal with this issue?

I am pleased to report that following contact with Topsail, who do not themselves off home insurance, they referred me to an associated Broker, Reid-Briggs in Eastbourne, who have given me a quote for up to 8 mouths unoccupancy. This suits our current needs and the price and terms are reasonable.
