Hi all, I am looking for your input regarding a new printer purchase. Obviously the thing should be reliable and not give you much grief with different cartridge manufacturers. So easy worldwide supply and cost-effectiveness are the main points. Color is nice...

Happy to hear your thoughts, experiences and recommendations

Hi Peter,
We have had small Cannon Notebook printer (IT 90m I think) for a couple of decades and they last about 5 years. Color is dependent on cartridge choice.

Hello Peter,
We have 220V AC in our boat, either from shore power, generator or inverter, so a standard home office type printer works well. We currently have an HP2540 colour inkjet on board, with spare cartridges which come in sealed foil packets, so no problem with cartridge availability.
If you don;t have 220V AC on board there are plenty of good small inverters available that will do the job. Printers don't use much power.
Cheers
Alan

Hey Alan! Yes, I have 220V, so I got a little laser printer. For most stuff I don’t need color. Guess the cartridge will last much longer and wont dry up like ink
