Our dear UK Government advises us not to sail across the Indian Ocean from SE Asia to the Red Sea due to Somali pirates. They advise we take the route via South Africa instead.
The position of the Chagos Islands makes an ideal stopping off point in working the Trade Winds on this route where a stop in that area from March/April to June makes sense. Does anyone know why from 2012 on,we are being exposed to further danger by our own Government by retricting access to 28 prebooked days??
