Since this post, there has been a lot of confusion about the UTL, which in some instances has not been provided to eligible UK flag vessels and in other instances some authorities have insisted on clearing in and out of every Greek Port visited.  Following sterling work by the Cruising Association,  on the 24th May, the Greek government modified the shipping law concerning Transit Log holder obligations, to exempt vessels carrying a UTL from having to check into and out of every port. This appears to be with immediate effect. There is still a need to check into and out of the country when entering or leaving.
