Regarding Weather Routers: Does anyone have any recommendations for persons or companies who specialize in the North Atlantic routes from Caribbean to the British Isles? We know Parker, and have used him, but are looking for alternatives that might be a better fit. You can PM if you wish, thanks! — looking for recommendations.

There is a female weather router in Gibraltar that I have heard is very good. She was listed along with Chris and 2 others in a Sailing Magazine article2 years ago regarding Atlantic routers. I will try to find her name.

Its Stephanie Ball at Meteogib; we used them for our trip from st Martin to the Azores, and then on to Falmouth. We were very happy with the service, and can happily recommend.

Bill who runs passageweather has done many many trips for us and he gets the boat polars into the equation too.

Commanders weather have been very good to me in the past. I’ve also used WRI but their forecasts are data heavy - lots of pretty pictures while commanders has been text based. I currently use Windy pro but realise this isn’t accessible to all.

We used Charlie too for our Atlantic crossing last year. We were pleased we did. www.myweatherrouter.com.
We had been happy subscribers to Chris Parker’s service for years, but Charlie’s communication options were easier for us on a short-handed crossi… See More

Hi Daria,
I notice no responses to your request for wx routers in the N Atlantic.
I thought I was in a distinct minority in my wish to avoid FB, but perhaps others feel similarly. I felt like any answer of mine to your request was likely to get copied and posted on FB and I do not want any of my writing on FB.
An alternative would be for you to suggest that those looking for information come to the Forum and participate. This would enhance the usage of the Forum: a good thing and bring in other information and knowledge.

No Dick, I would never copy from the Forum to Facebook. I may alert people on FB that something valuable has been posted on the Forum to try to get them there.

I occasionally copy a Facebook post to the Forum so it does not get lost because valuable information eventually disappears there. I have tried many times to get people who post on FB to also post on the Forum with little result.

I hope that clarifies matters.

Hi Daria,
Good to know.
But I wrote primarily to speculate as to why no one had responded and to promote the suggestion that OCC members use the Forum for asking questions, collecting information and sharing their knowledge.
My best, Dick
