RE Orcas
I am wondering if any attacks have been during the hours of darkness. We hope to cross biscay to La Coruna in July  and if the attacks are shown to be during the day we could try and time the last 20 miles ( danger  zone ) at night. Any thoughts ??

Stefan

Wander over to nearest SALVAMENTO rescue boat. Someone there will have English.
They will certainly have up to date information and be helpful.

If you come up to Galicia, please look out for me......Peter Haden Yacht Papageno............cruising between Vigo and Finisterre Mid June to October every year.

We reached Gibraltar without any problems yesterday. We were sailing very close to the coast and get here without any orcas.
Cheers Stefan

Addition
Following the advice given by "Orcas Marinas" Spanish organization, reported on the OCC NewsLetter, an additional advice/point of view from NOAA, tubular bells or "firecrackers"

https://response.restoration.noaa.gov/about/media/how-do-you-keep-killer-whales-away-oil-spill.html
Any idea what power should these "submarine firecrackers" have? There are commercially available submarine explosive cartridges used to warn scuba divers, would they be ok? Too powerful?
regards
rr
