We are hoping to be able to get back to New Zealand to pick up our boat after 2+ years.  The plan is to head N round the top of Papua and then on through Indonesia.  We currently have a selection of (mostly) empty Camping Gaz bottles on the boat.  These have been filled with butane and, when we couldnt find that on the Coconut run, we filled with Propane.
Does anyone know where we can get these filled in NZ and, failing that, what our best solution would be for the trip back to the Med via Suez?
Thanks in advance
Stephen

Stephen,
No idea about refilling gasification NZ but fascinating to hear that you are routing via Suez. Is that route becoming more feasible now?

Hi Simon
we are going to take it fairly slowly and reckon we wont get to Sri Lanka for 2-3 years and then see what the security situation is like then.

Hello, when away from filling stations, we fill CG bottles by ourselves with this type of fitting
https://www.laboutiquedugaz.fr/wp-content/uploads/09-734-00.jpg
it's a sort of open tap, without any pressure regulation.

The complete fitting looks like this (this is for filling from 12kg bottles).
You can usually borrow a local bottle by leaving a deposit, fill your CGs, then giving back the local bottle.
Put the donor bottle upside down, under the sun, and the CG in a bucket of water: when the CG shows neutral buoyancy it will be correctly filled (or you may use a scale and weigh it, tare is engraved in the bottom ring of the bottle, the result is the same).
