We are in Puerto Williams, heading north next year via Falklands. Does anyone know of a safe place in Uraguay or southern Brasil to leave a boat, either afloat or ashore, for 6 weeks in May and June?

As Paul says, Piriapolis is the usual haven. Roxanna who I imagine you met in Ushuaia spends the austral winter there so I 'm sure she can help. I overwintered Mina2 for two consecutive years at Marina Bracuhy about 60nm west of Rio - but that may be too far north for you.
