As the cooker is new, take a look at its data plate - that should tell you what pressure gas supply the jets are designed for. If you sourced the cooker in Europe its likely to be set up for a relatively new common standard which requires a 30mb regulator for either propane or butane. The older standard was to use regulators of 37mb and 28mb for propane and butane respectively. There is some more detail here, you could also talk to Gaslow (part of Calor) in Southampton who can provide specialist advice on international marine gas installations.

On getting supply around Europe Gaslow can also advise. What theyd probably say is go with Camping Gaz (butane), mostly because its the only portable standard for bottle and connector around Europe. However butane seems to be more expensive than propane.

For propane each country seems to have its own standards for bottles, each countries approved bottle has different connections too. Gaslow can provide a set of adapters that I 've read have been succesful in allowing people to connect thier onboard regulator to whatever bottle they manage to get. I 've also read of people managing to get thier existing bottle refilled in most countries but often after much asking around.

What has your experience been with cooking gas in different parts of the world? In our experience, it 's hard to get consistent supplies of one type of cooking gas when cruising. I found one article about switching gas supplies when arriving in the Med.

We 've just installed a new stove and I want to make sure we can have reliable supplies without damaging the stove. Any advice would be appreciated.
