Thanks Bill. We are in Black Rock, CT at the moment, enquiring round here but will be heading east soon so your recommendations are much appreciated.

Can anyone recommend an experienced fibreglass expert on coast anywhere between New York and Portland, Maine? We require a fairly complicated repair to topside, involving removal of rotten timber beneath self-tacking gib rail, followed by full reinstatement. Personal recommendations would be welcome.

Fiona, I'd be visiting two places: New England Boatworks and the Hinkley Yard right next door. THey have the engineering capabilities, wherewithal, and staff. I don't know Hinkley, but if you go to NEB ask for Ian Mackechnie - service manager.
Both places are in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, just up the way from Newport.

Good luck with wherever you land.
